Jonas Vingegaard’s Team Visma | Lease a Bike has decided to deepen its connection with identity and fans ahead of the 2026 Tour de France. Coinciding with the Grand Départ in Barcelona, the Dutch team unveils a jersey that goes beyond aesthetics, built around a clear concept inspired by architecture and the figure of Antoni Gaudí. The standout twist is that fans of the Dutch team will choose the final jersey for the Grande Boucle through a public vote.
The new design revolves around the concept The Architect, a direct nod to Gaudí’s unmistakable style and Barcelona’s visual identity. Rather than focusing solely on looks, the team has brought a structural idea onto the jersey: the primacy of functionality and efficiency, both central to the Catalan architect’s work.
Within that approach, the honeycomb pattern takes center stage. This motif, present in Gaudí’s studies and designs, symbolizes small units that, together, form a strong and efficient structure. It’s no accident: the team wants to mirror its own sporting philosophy, where the collective comes before individual stars.
The metaphor fits neatly with the way Team Visma | Lease a Bike operates, where overall performance is built from the coordination of every rider. The jersey therefore not only connects with Barcelona, it visually translates the team’s DNA.
Beyond the concept, the squad has again opened the door to fan participation. For the second time in its history, supporters will have the final say on the design. They can choose between two versions of the same jersey —one dark and one light— in a vote running from 21 to 23 April. The winning option will be worn by the team during the race.

Jersey customization

The public’s involvement doesn’t end there. During the pre-sale phase, fans will be able to personalize the garment by adding their name, subtly integrated in a detail that evokes an architect’s signature, reinforcing the design’s creative idea.
The team highlights the growing importance of its community. Jasper Saeijs, head of marketing, notes that the black-and-yellow tide keeps expanding, both in numbers and roadside presence, and sees continued fan integration in initiatives like this as crucial.
With this launch, Team Visma | Lease a Bike is not only unveiling a new jersey, but also building a bridge between sport, art, and fandom, aligning its identity with the Tour’s start setting and with one of architecture’s most influential figures.
