Team Jayco AlUla is looking for another leader for the grand tours and has reportedly set its sights on Nairo Quintana

Nairo Quintana continues to look for a team for the 2024 season. After spending 2023 as a free agent, the Colombian cyclist is hoping that non-MPCC squads will give him a chance to race next year and the latest rumour coming out of Colombia links him to the Team Jayco AlUla.

The Australian team has recently been reinforced with the arrival of Caleb Ewan and the renewal of Dylan Groenewegen. If we add to them Michael Matthews, the squad can boast one of the strongest blocks of sprinters on the planet. However, when we think about their potential for the general classification, things change;

Simon Yates is the most reliable man and proved it in the last Tour de France, but he is not ready to do more than one grand tour a year. The other strong man is Eddie Dunbar, who finished seventh in the last Giro d'Italia and had to withdraw due to a crash in the Vuelta. Thus, they would be looking for a third piece to be competitive in the grand tours and would have thought of Nairo Quintana as a possibility.
