Team Jayco AlUla dominates Hong Kong Challenge with Lukas Postlberger taking the win and Zdenek Stybar controlling the race in third

The Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Challenge, back on the cycling calendar for the first time since it's premiere in 2017, was won by Lukas Postlberger. Jayco AlUla's Austrian soloed to victory in the 1.1 race. Kane Richards crossed the line in second ahead of Zdenek Stybar, who takes bronze medal from the final race of his road career.

After six years, the race finally has a successor to Matej Mohoric who won the first edition six years ago. The participants could prepare themselves for a billiard-level, almost criterium-like competition of just over a hundred kilometers through the streets of the capital Hong Kong.

Jayco AlUla, as the sole WT team at the start, immediately took the control over the race from the start, splitting the bunch after some 15 kms into the race. Lukas Pöstlberger rode away from the reduced group of sixteen riders with just two laps to go and soloed to the sixth professional victory of his career.

Stybar was the next finisher for Jayco AlUla who had 5 of their 6 riders in the front group. The Australian formation used their numbers tactically to cover all counter-attacks, with Stybar going along with Australian Kane Richards, finishing together over a minute behind Postlberger. Additionally, Blake Quick crossed the line in 4th place.
