"I think in the coming seasons I can continue to be someone who can help the finishers of the team in any way; for example, I can ride in front for a long time in a chase. I like to give 100 percent to my teammates. Off the bike, I like to have a nice atmosphere in the team, so I hope to bring that balance to the guys as well and help them relax at the right moments," concluded the 27-year-old Dutchman.
Welten was also happy. "I feel really supported here at
Team dsm-firmenich PostNL, and that is both at the moments when things are going well and at the moments when things might not go as planned. I think that is good, because that support at the more difficult moments are the moments that help you to do better afterwards," said the key leadout man.
