"Solo, and then you’re sure you’re going to have It” – Ben Healy on winning strategy

After a remarkable solo display, Ben Healy secured his second win of the week at the GP Industria & Artigianato. He launched his attack with 13 kilometres remaining and managed to maintain his lead until the finish line.

“This is the way I like to do it. Solo, and then you’re sure you’re going to have it,” Healy said on his team’s website. Healy’s defining moment came on the last ascent of the Fornello. When Diego Ulissi from UAE attacked, he countered and went on to crest the climb unaccompanied.

His victory was something that sport director Ken Vanmarcke saw coming. "Before the race, when we were looking at TrainingPeaks, we could see that Ben Healy was flying. We had several riders that we knew were riding at a really high level and were ready to race.”

Over the last week, the Irish rider has secured two wins. “All week, they made sure that they were always communicating with each other and with us. They were on it and they were on a mission so it’s really cool to see the guys win,” concluded Vanmarcke.
