🧮 With the GC confirmed it's fifth and sixth overall for @ThymenArensman and @tompidcock respectively at #VAlgarve2024. Strong results after solid block of racing for the team 🙌👊
After a horrific crash at last year’s Vuelta a España, in which he lost one of his front teeth, Thymen Arensman has bounced back strongly at the start of this season, finishing fifth overall at the Volta ao Algarve.
Now in his second year with INEOS Grenadiers, Arensman finished sixth overall at the Giro d’Italia in 2023 and is now hoping to be selected for this year’s race to have another go at the general classification alongside Geraint Thomas.
In an interview with In de Leiderstrui, Arensman looked ahead to May, as he stated that “with the legs and the shape I have now and seeing the Giro route, that race should suit me very well, with time trials and a tough third week”.
On his objectives for the Giro d’Italia, Arensman said “doing better than last year's sixth place would be nice, but I still have to be selected first. Only Geraint is certain, so I hope so”.
