BORA-Hansgrohe has revealed its selection for the Vuelta a España. The German team has picked the best riders to compete, including Giro d'Italia winner Jai Hindley who will go into the race with the goal of repeating his prowess in Spain.
The team has chosen Jai Hindley, Wilco Kelderman, Sergio Higuita, and Emanuel Buchmann for the mountain stages. Higuita has prepared through the Tour de Pologne and has focused his GT ambitions onto the Vuelta this year, and will be racing alongside the trio that has climbed to the win at the Giro, making for a very strong block that is coming into the race with form.
Sam Bennett however will also be at the start. The Irishman struggled with form over this season, but has been given a vote of confidence and will be targeting the flat stages. His leadout, consisting of Danny van Poppel and Ryan Mullen will be present to provide him support, with Jonas Koch also meant to have an important role in that matter, besides leader protection. “We do have world-class riders in every area, with Sam Bennett in the sprints. Then, of course there’s the GC. So the long list is pretty long, and we’ve got lots of options,” sports director Rolf Aldag told Cyclingnews.
BORA hence come with a very strong lineup to the Spanish race and will be aiming high on multiple terrains, following two successful Grand Tour.
