Ruptured disk the reason for Michal Kwiatkowski's Olympic Games departure and possible season end

Michal Kwiatkowski was 23rd in the time trial at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, 2:37 behind gold medalist Remco Evenepoel and 2:12 behind podium finisher and bronze medalist Wout van Aert. The Pole was scheduled to take part in the online race a few days later but eventually did not take the start.

Since then, nothing more has been heard. But now the INEOS Grenadiers rider has explained on his social networks the reason why he was not present.

"It hasn't been easy weeks because of the ruptured disc, but I'm getting back. The rehab is paying off and I'm getting back in shape. Thanks for all the support, and much love to my family and friends," the 34-year-old wrote.

It is not yet known when Kwiato will return to racing, he is not entered in any race at the moment but we wish him a speedy and efficient recovery and that he will be on the roads giving us all his talent as soon as possible.
