Primoz Roglic spoke to the media before the start of stage 19 of the Giro d'Italia in which he will play for the maglia rosa with Geraint Thomas and Joao Almeida. The Slovenian Jumbo-Visma rider is 29 seconds behind the Welshman in the general classification and his goal is none other than to overtake him before arriving in Rome on Sunday.
Roglic spoke to CyclingPro.Net and, while he didn't give lengthy answers, he did make clear some concepts to keep in mind ahead of today's Tre Cime di Lavaredo stage.
- On his feelings after stage 18 in which he gained time on Almeida
"Yesterday was good, there was action at the end, I had legs and it was fun."
- On stage 16 when he lost time to Thomas and Joao:
"I prefer good times, the last one was good so I'm optimistic for today and tomorrow."
- On tactics, asked if he plans to attack on the Passo Giau:
"I don't think so, the finish is so strong, so hard, the last 3 k, we'll see who has legs and who doesn't."
- On whether he sees weaknesses in Geraint Thomas:
"So far he is being very strong, I hope I have the legs too."
