Rod Ellingworth hopeful on Adam Yates and Ineos Grenadiers contract extension- "Adam likes it here, no issues"

Adam Yates and Ineos Grenadiers are reportedly negotiating a contract extension. Yates signed a two-year contract at the start of 2020, with his current agreement scheduled to expire at the completion of the season.

According to reports Adam’s former team BikeExchange is interested in welcoming him back but team manager Rod Ellingworth hints that he will stay with INEOS Grenadiers. “We’ve still got to negotiate. It’s looking OK. We’re just talking. As far as I’m aware, Adam likes it here. No issues,” team manager Rod Ellingworth told VeloNews.

Ellingworth also informed negotiation with Richard Carapaz failed to come to the conclusion and the former Giro d’Italia winner will soon be joining EF Education-EasyPost. “At the end of the day, everyone is free to do what they want. Richard is a brilliant bike racer and he’s really done well for us. He’s been brilliant for us and it would have been great for us if he had stayed but that’s life. It’s not official yet but I’m aware,” said Ellingworth.
