Dorian Godon at the prologue Romandie 2026
The prologue of the 2026 Tour de Romandie has had a surprise result, as this afternoon in Villars-sur-Glâne, it was Dorian Godon who took the victory, with a surprisingly dominant performance even in a field with Tadej Pogacar.
The French road national champion has taken his fourth World Tour win of the season, and yet another for an INEOS Grenadiers that has been succeeding massively from signing the French sprinter.
It was a rolling 3-kilometer long prologue which started off with a descent, and included a 1.1-kilometer long climb to the finish. The gradients weren't overly high, and so this was an effort for the prologue specialists and classics riders - those able to succeed in the short sharp efforts, and deliver with raw watts.

Pogacar gets a head up in the overall classification fight

Godon was not one of the main favourites, however, but succeeded with a performance that saw him win with 6 seconds over Ivo Oliveira and Jakob Söderqvist. Tadej Pogacar finished fifth on the day, losing 7 seconds, however finishing as the best out of the overall classification contenders.
