Remco Evenepoel has returned to his winning ways with a victory on the opening stage of the
Tour of Norway. The
Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team rider has taken advantage of the explosivity he's worked on this year, to take a sprint win in the final hilltop.
The finale in Voss featured a 2.7Km climb at 6.6% average gradient, where the main favourites waited for the final sprint to make their dash for the win. Evenepoel launched his sprint with around 200 meters to go on the uphill ramps, and held his own to the line taking a strong win.
Tobias Johannessen bridged over to him but didn't have the legs to go through the Belgian, with minor splits behind occurring - as
Eduard Prades rode to third place.
