Remco Evenepoel got through his first day in the pink jersey, although at the end of the second stage, there was a fall that left several riders out of action and generated some differences between those in the general classification. The Belgian assured that he saw what happened and that it was not good.
"Everything went well, we were ahead so we were out of trouble, but it was ugly what happened, although I saw what happened, it's racing, but it wasn't a pretty move, let's hope we're safe."
As it could not be otherwise, he highlights his first experience with the pink jersey as more than positive:
"I've really enjoyed wearing the pink jersey, it's something special in Italy and it means a lot to me to wear it."
