Remco Evenepoel absent as Belgian Cycling confirm lineup for 2024 European Championships

We don't have too long left for the next bit of international cycling. As the Belgian's reveal their lineup for the upcoming 2024 European Championships however, the recently crowned double Olympic champion Remco Evenepoel is notably absent.

In the time trial world champion's absence, the Belgian's have turned to Team Visma | Lease a Bike's newest signing Victor Campenaerts, and Evenepoel's Soudal - Quick-Step teammate, Yves Lampaert in the fight to succeed Joshua Tarling as the European champion against the clock.

In the road race meanwhile, Belgium have gone for a formidable sprint orientated team including the incredibly fast quartet of Tim Merlier, Jasper Philipsen, Jordi Meeus and Wout van Aert, with support coming from the likes of Tim Declerq, Laurenz Rex, Jonas Rickaert and Bert van Lerberghe.

Should any late injuries or illness befall any of the aforementioned roster, the Belgian's have also announced their reserve riders for the 2024 European Championships, those being Jenno Berckmoes, Edward Theuns and Julien Vermote respectively.
