Primoz Roglic will attempt to break his 6-month long victory-drought at Giro dell'Emilia

This Saturday, October 4, Primoz Roglic returns to competition. The Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe superstar will lead the German team at the 2025 Giro dell'Emilia. The Slovenian is also one of the great favorites for the victory, which he already needs due to a drought that has already lasted more than 6 months.

Roglic hasn't won since the Volta a Catalunya. On March 30, the leader took the final stage in Montjuic to also secure the overall classification. But since then, he wasn't given the opportunity to raise his arms. At neither of Giro d'Italia, Tour de France, Clásica de San Sebastián or the World Championship in Kigali, the Slovenian came even close to winning.

Primoz Roglic has a good chance to break this win drought at the Giro dell'Emilia. Running simultaneously with the road race at the European Championships, the likes of Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard, Remco Evenepoel, Juan Ayuso, or Joao Almeida will be absent from the Italian semi-classic.

Roglic's main obstacle to winning the Giro dell'Emilia will therefore be Isaac del Toro. The Mexican is in incredible form, with 13 wins in 2025 and no signs of stopping his quest for victories before the end of the season. In order to beat the young UAE Team Emirates - XRG star, the experienced Slovenian will be provided with a strong support team.

Alongside Primoz Roglic, the beverage squad will have star climbers of the caliber of Jai Hindley (4th at Vuelta '25) and Giulio Pellizzari (6th at Vuelta '25 and Giro '25). In addition, Aleksandr Vlasov, Jan Tratnik, Giovanni Aleotti and Gianni Moscon will be present in Bologna. With such a strong line-up, only a victory will be a satisfying result for Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe at Giro dell'Emilia.
