Kamna and Roglic were opponents in the battle for the Maglia Rosa at last year's
Giro d'Italia. With the Slovenian, then riding for Jumbo-Visma taking the overall victory, Kamna took home a very creditable 9th overall. As Roglic focuses on the Tour de France this year with his new however, Kamna will once again lead BORA - hansgrohe's GC challenge at the first Grand Tour of the year.
"I would like to have an absolute top result at the Giro. I would look back happy if I knew that the build-up worked well, that I got through healthy and was part of the race," Kamna previews. "I would also really like to take part in the Tour - but not at any price, only if it goes very well and I can contribute something. I want to have shown good legs, that's important to me. I want to be active, have beautiful races, present myself to a certain extent and convey my passion for cycling."
"It is difficult to say exactly which stage will make the difference," the 27-year-old, three-time Grand Tour stage winner continues, previewing the upcoming Giro. "The time-trials will be very important - and of course the last week, where the cards will be reshuffled, as we saw last year. It will be extremely important to have a few grains left to be able to compete decisively."
