The riders are underway on stage 3 of the 2024 Criterium du Dauphine and one of the pre race favourites,
Primoz Roglic has already been involved in an incident.
Roglic, who finished 2nd on stage 2 behind Magnus Cort Nielsen on Monday, was brought down to the French tarmac relatively early on stage 3. After around 41km, with the riders had been on the road for less than an hour at the time, the BORA , hansgrohe leader was caught up in a crash. Thankfully for the Slovenian, some teammates waited for him and brought him back to the peloton without too much difficulty. With the Tour de France looming however, it's the kind of stress that would be better avoided.
“The finish was a bit tricky, but I take the positive out of it. I had the legs, and the boys showed a high level and real dedication. I am very happy,” he said in front of the Cycling Pro Net camera in his pre stage interview at the start of the day. “Will it be the same today? We have to see. We went full yesterday, today it might be more up to the others. But we will see how the race unfolds from the start.”
