The Tour of Guangxi is the final World Tour event of the year and it closes out the calendar in Asia. China hosts the six-day race where there are still lots of UCI points to attribute and some meaningful victories too. Stage 6 will take place on the 19th of October. The stage is estimated to start at 08:20CET and finish at 11:10CET.
The final stage of the race is the Nanning circuit, also in use for several years now. It's a stage that should end in a sprint but the climb that is featured in the circuit is quite interesting, as the 134 kilometer-long stage goes through it five times.
The ascent is 1.3 kilometers long at 11.5%, tough enough to split the peloton and see some attacks. Hard enough for them to survive? That's a different question. Still the final one comes with 19.5 kilometers to go, meaning the sprinters won't have much time to recover before the finale.
It's an interesting stage format, the only issue is that within the sprinters, Paul Magnier is the strongest of climbers and shouldn't struggle too much to be within contention at the top of the ascent. The wide, straight and pan-flat roads the riders have been finding throughout the week have been neutralizing attacks and I expect the same to happen here, with the Frenchman ultimately being hard to beat in any circumstance. The GC itself should also see a few moves but Paul Double and Team Jayco AlUla will also want to keep things tight and compact.

Stage 6: Nanning - Nanning

Prediction Tour of Guangxi stage 6:

*** Paul Magnier
** Pavel BIttner,
* Jordi Meeus, Stan Dewulf, Jhonatan Narváez, Paul Penhoët, Niklas Behrens, Jan Christen, Rui Oliveira, Max Kanter
Pick: Paul Magnier
How: There will be attacks on the climbs but ultimately no riders will be able to definitely get away, and so we should have a reduced bunch sprint. The strongest of sprinters, and strongest of climbers within the sprinters, is the man to beat.
