This Friday,
September 19th is stage 3 of the
Tour de Luxembourg 2025, which is being held between the 17th and 21st. Romain Grégoire and the surprising Mathieu Kockelmann have been the stage winners so far. The Frenchman from Groupama - FDJ is also the leader of the classification at the moment, but on this hilly stage we should have more GC action. The stage is estimated to
start at 12:30CET and
finish at 16:30CET.
The third day will be 170.5 kilometers between Mertert and Vianden. It will be a very challenging day with the brutal final challenge on the Montée de Niklosbierg, 2.8km at 9.3% average gradient. The very steep climb will be climbed 3 times in a circuit that will lead to the finish line. It will be one of the hardest stages of the week, in which it will already be possible to generate certain differences between the men in the general classification.
Grégoire himself, the race's yellow jersey, will be one of the candidates for the final victory. With his good top speed and his know-how on this type of course, he has a good chance of consolidating his lead. One of his big rivals could be Brandon McNulty, who has just won the GP de Montréal. Tadej Pogacar gave it to him, but he had to be there until the end.
Other important names could be Mattias Skjelmose and Marc Hisrchi, who proved to be in good shape after finishing third in the opening stage. As for the Latin Americans, there will be two Ecuadorians with options. Richard Carapaz will lead the EF Education Easy-Post options along with Ben Healy, and Jhonatan Narváez, who will be the UAE Team Emirates - XRG candidate if he is well and McNulty fails.
