Preview. A new one-day race in the calendar. Splitting up from the Tour des Alpes Maritimes, on the 16th of February we've got the Classic Var which finishes atop the iconic Mont Faron.
It is a race with 184.5 kilometers in distance, having a flat first half and a tough second one. A day for climbers and possibly puncheurs who carry good form into the race. Col du Corps de Garde is the warm-up for the final ascent, climbing 2.7 kilometers at 6.2% in it's toughest part. The descent leads the rider directly into the Mont Faron. The final climb is 5.7 kilometers at 8.4%, an explosive climb by the coast with plenty hairpins.
