Tadej Pogacar cannot win the youth classification in Grand Tours anymore, and so this opens up the door for other riders to succeed where he is present. The white jersey will be a hotly disputed one at this year's
Giro d'Italia and features three very balanced favourites.
These will be
Cian Uijtdebroeks who is leading Visma,
Thymen Arensman who is a co-leader at INEOS Grenadiers but was sixth last year, and
Antonio Tiberi who has not yet had a successful GC tilt at a Grand Tour but has shown the best form out of the three in recent weeks. We could also add Tour de Romandie podium finisher
Florian Lipowitz who is an absolute wildcard for the race.
