This year's Velo d'Or nominees are known and whilst there are a number of good options, this should boil down to Lotte Kopecky vs Demi Vollering right? Both have had stellar seasons and the result should be tighter than the obvious AVV choice last season!
The Velo d'Or is one of the, if not the most prestigious award in cycling and they will be announced tonight in Paris. Before the Tour de France is revealed, many of the world's best will gather in the city of lights for a gala ceremony where one male and female rider will receive the award.
Whilst there is debate on the nominees selected for these categories, arguably the deserved winner is present on both. Below we feature a poll for each category, to collect your opinion on who was the best athlete of the season.

He was convicted civilly but technically for committing crime.
