Really excited to share the news: I will officially retire on October 15 at the Cauberg, the place where I took my biggest victory 🌈 Hope to see you there! philslastride.com
Phillipe Gilbert has announced his retirement date. The rider has chosen October 15 to put an end to his 20-year-long cycling career.
There will be an event held on Cauberg in Valkenburg on October 15. Cauberg holds a special meaning as Gilbert had several victories in this place. Gilbert won the Amstel Gold Race four times and the World Cycling Championships in 2012. His achievement includes Paris-Roubaix, the Tour of Flanders, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, and the Tour of Lombardy.
The event will include riding a 65km track along with his fans, then a presentation, an official tribute book, and at last few heartfelt words from his teammates and other riders. He is currently riding in the Tour de France for Lotto Soudal.
