Sam Bennett powered to the sprint win on the final stage of the 2025 Tour de la Provence on Sunday afternoon. A little behind the Irishman though, Pascal Ackermann was caught up in a very nasty crash whilst sprinting, raising much concern.
As they entered the final few hundred metres, the sprinters were just launching their massive power moves, but sadly for Ackermann, as he attempted to put the power down, his front wheel slipped out on a speed bump, bringing him down hard to the tarmac, a situation worsened by the fact riders behind had nowhere to go but on top of the strewn German. The Israel - Premier Tech team have now given an update on Ackermann's condition, via their official social media pages and thankfully, the sprint powerhouse has seemingly escaped rather luckily.
"Pascal has been examined by IPT's doctor who has confirmed that he fortunately did not sustain any fractures in the crash. Pascal has road rash and superficial wounds and will continue to be monitored," explains the Israel - Premier Tech statement. "Thanks for the messages of support. We wish Pascal a speedy recovery!"
