Tadej Pogacar has made waves in the cycling world this week by taking on reconnaissance of the Paris-Roubaix course, heightening speculation that the UAE Team Emirates - XRG leader could be making a debut on the French cobbles in 2025. According to UAE's sports manager Joxean Matxin though, Pogacar is still some way away from that debut.
"On the phone with Matxin Joxean Fernandez. He says that Paris-Roubaix remains off Pogačar's race programme for 2025 at this moment in time," reports the highly respected British cycling journalist Daniel Benson on his official X (Twitter) account, putting some water on the fires of speculation after video emerged of Pogacar training on the Paris-Roubaix course.
Another race that holds much uncertainty for Pogacar's 2025 is the Vuelta a Espana. Although it's confirmed the Slovenian won't be at the Giro d'Italia and will be present at the Tour de France, the year's third Grand Tour has not had official confirmation either way, despite Spanish reports of Pogacar's presence. According to Benson, Matxin has said more information on the Vuelta situation is incoming soon. "Official confirmation on the Vuelta situation will be made at the UAE Tour," he notes, the race where Pogacar makes his debut for 2025.

I wonder how much of his ride through Arenberg was recon and how much was trolling... because he can. If I was him and with that inane sense of humour wee see, I'd be trolling my pals as much as I could...
Can imagine the text " Mathieu... thought you said Arenberg was tough, Hugs Tadej"

Apparently they (with Wellens) did 165km and all cobbled sectors of P-R, you don't do that by accident. However this doesn't mean he'll ride it this year

Tadej is in his grand tour years, we might see him win two a year for the next three years, if he can achieve that he will win all three at some point, this will cement him as the best pro cyclist of all time, winning like this in the modern era. It's a big ask but he can do it, he's shown he has what it takes.

He probably struck it off this years’ list after the recon ;-)

2026 is the time he will do it and will be matured 27 aged the time in late April next year. For that race he will just only focus Ardenes Weeks, Tour de Suisse, mainly Tour de France, San Sebastian, Canadian GPs, Worlds and Autumn Classics.
