In their place? A bold but calculated bet on the future. With few like-for-like replacements of experienced riders, Red Bull seem to be gearing towards a young unit of riders with their eye on the future. However, we've seen cycling's biggest stars enjoy meteoric rises to the top in recent seasons.
With the end of an era comes a new dawn, and Red Bull BORA Hansgrohe's transfer market shows that
the German team are looking ahead.
Primoz Roglic is set to leave the team
Transfers Out - Roglic and other experienced riders leave
First thing's first, Red Bull will be without Primooz Roglic in 2027 as he ends his three-year stint with the team. The Slovenian enjoyed a purple patch in the final weeks of the season with a Vuelta podium and European Championships time trial win, but is on his way out.
The writing had been on the wall since Evenepoel's arrival and even the rise of Florian Lipowitz at the 2025 Tour de France. Turning 37 in the coming days, the team confirmed he would not continue in the setup in 2027.
Roglic's departure sees the end of the first era since Red Bull came on board for the 2024 season, with his period at the helm seeing him win the 2024 Vuelta a Espana and several other key races. Evenepoel's arrival and his reduced leadership roles in 2026 mean that there isn't a huge void behind in terms of leaders or candidates.
However, he isn't the only experienced rider to be leaving. Nico Denz, the 32-year-old all-rounder with three Giro d'Italia stage wins with the team, is on his way to Tudor. A versatile and reliable member of the team, his absence sees 12 years of World Tour experience leave.
The departure of Jordi Meeus also sees their one-time Tour de France Champs-Elysees winner depart for Lidl-Trek. The Belgian's classics and sprint pedigree mean that the team will be considerably shorter in that area in 2027.
Emil Herzog will leave for EF Education-EasyPost despite some positive results. The 22-year-old recently finished in seventh place at the European Championships and will be a loss to the team's climbing and one-day support.
They currently have 24 riders registered for 2027, with four riders currently without a confirmed deal for next season. Those riders are experienced leadoff and sprinter Danny van Poppel, accomplished all-rounder Giovani Aleotti, young climber Alexander Hajek and Australian domestique Jarrad Drizners.

Transfers In - Finn is Red Bull's big bet on future
There's no other way to address it -
Lorenzo Finn is the most exciting rider stepping up to WorldTour level in 2027. The 19-year-old was world champion at junior level in 2024 before winning the U23 title the following year as an 18-year-old.
This year, he dominated the Sibiu Tour with the WorldTour team before going on to win the Tour de l'Avenir in style. Representing the main team on several occasions, he even rode the World Championships elite road race with the Italian team.
Finn is primed to be one of cycling's biggest prospects in 2027, and Red Bull have handed him a two-year deal ensuring that he will feature at some of the best races in the world next season.
Reinforcing Red Bull's look forward, Georg Steinhauser joins from EF Education-EasyPost. The German climber has already proven to be a solid mountain domestique and breakaway hunter in stage races and Grand Tours, adding another strong rider to Evenepoel's support offering looking forward.
Even if Red Bull's four riders unconfirmed for 2027 do sign on with the team, two spaces are still left in their potential roster for next season - and they have two perfect riders ready o step up from their Red Bull Rookies development team.
Alessio Magagnotti and Davide Donati have impressed considerably in 2026, stepping up on several occasions to the WorldTour team and grasping their chance. Magagnotti won a Deutschland Tour sprint and took top fives at the ZLM Tour and Classique Dunkerque. Donati too has had impressive results, including a CRO Race victory and a top ten at Coppa Bernocchi and Eneco Tour podium - after his Giro NextGen stage win earlier in the year.
Magagnotti is just 19 and Donati is 21, with both riders not confirmed for 2027. As Red Bull have already put their bets on Finn, they've a chance to double down ahead of next season with two of cycling's major sprint prospects.
| Rider | Age | Origin |
| Lorenzo Finn | 19 | Red Bull Rookies |
| Georg Steinhauser | 25 | EF Education-EasyPost |
Evenepoel firmly at the top of Red Bull hierarchy
Heading into the 2027 season, it appears as though Remco Evenepoel is the undisputed leader of the team. Sure, there were debates around his Tour de France leadership with Florian Lipowitz before it became clear that the German rider would at times have to work in service of Evenepoel.
Lipowitz's Tour crash and subsequent admission of focus on other goals in 2027 means that Evenepoel's 2027 ambitions are firmly in his control, and the combination of young rising stars as well as experienced climbing support make for an intriguing prospect next season.
Evenepoel knows that Jai Hindley may take a Grand Tour leadership in whichever he doesn't ride, but could once again have the Australian's support in the high mountains. The rise of Giulio Pellizzari has seen Evenepoel possess one of the peloton's most exciting climbers in his locker at major races.
With Pellizzari and a rising Finn, the reliance on seasoned lieutenants such as Danny Felipe Martinez and Aleksandr Vlasov has been eased considerably while Steinhauser is also an option.
Luke Tuckwell's strong Tour Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes and Vuelta a Espana make him another promising teammate. Versatile classics specialists Finn Fisher-Black and Laurence Pithie are also to be considered as assets for Evenepoel in spring.
While Red Bull's transfer window may not scream instant success like their Evenepoel acquisition last winter, the team could well hit the jackpot on their bet for the future - strengthening Evenepoel's claim for Grand Tour and Monument glory as well as planting seeds for future success with Lorenzo Finn.
