After a hard stage to Port Ainé Aleksandr Vlasov remains on the overall podium of Volta a Catalunya holding a 26 seconds advantage over Lenny Martinez. Final two stages of the race might still provide some GC action, but the current position is very favorable for the BORA - hansgrohe leader.

"Our plan to secure the podium and ideally save some energy for the two difficult stages to come worked out perfectly. Aleks secured 3 valuable bonus seconds on the way and thus defended his 3rd place overall," sports director Christian Pömer commented.
