Leading the Tour de France by over seven and a half minutes, Jonas Vingegaard surely has victory of Maillot Jaune sealed up. That alongside the incredible time-trial victory on stage 16 has ensured for a successful race but the Jumbo-Visma leader is not content.
“This was another tough day, there was constant action everywhere. All in all it was a good ride," said the 26-year-old Dane in his post-stage interview following stage 19, a crazy day that saw an emotional Matej Mohoric take victory from the breakaway.
Casting an eye towards the final proper day of racing on stage 10, Vingegaard is keen to take advantage of one final stage win opportunity.
“If I feel good again on Saturday, we might go for the stage win. I know the course and we have a plan," says the Jumbo-Visma leader. "I feel little pressure and take things as they come. If I win, then I win, if not, then not."
