OFFICIAL: Uno-X Mobility step into transfer market as they sign Danish time trial champion who made breakthrough this season

Uno-X Mobility have taken their first step into the transfer market ahead of the 2027 season, signing 22-year-old Danish time trial national champion Kristian Egholm. A powerful rider who has made a significant breakthrough in 2026, the Lidl-Trek Future Racing rider has signed a three year contract.
Riding with the Danish-Norwegian team, who only sign Scandinavian riders in their transfer policy, Egholm steps into the World Tour riding a wave of momentum. At the Championships in june, he beat the likes of Kasper Asgreen and Mads Pedersen over 29 kilometers to seal the win.
Representing the Lidl-Trek WorldTour team at races such as Tour de Hongrie, AlUla Tour and Tour of Denmark in 2026, Uno-X already eyed the deal before his remarkable national championships win in a strong vote of confidence.
“Three very memorable years with Lidl-Trek Future Racing are coming to an end, and three new years at the highest level are ahead of me. Taking that step with a Danish-Norwegian team is really special,” Egholm said in the announcement.

“Winning the Danish title gave me extra confidence that I belonged at one of the fastest-developing teams in the WorldTour. The time trial will naturally become a bigger focus for me now, and I know I will be in good hands at Uno-X."
Egholm sees stage racing, particularly shorter races, as a pathway to a potential general classification bid, noting that his time trial capabilities can help him earn time ahead of other riders.
“At the same time, I will be able to develop with some very competent people in every part of my road racing. That was an important reason for choosing the team.
“I don’t have one particular race that I dream of winning. But if I had to point towards something, I think there could be opportunities for me in shorter stage races. We have seen strong time trialists go a long way in the general classification after producing a good time trial. That is something I would like to explore.”

Uno-X Mobility General Manager Thor Hushovd echoed Egholm in his desire to broaden his horizons and explore other elements of his abilities outside of the time trial.
“We did not sign Kristian because he became Danish champion. We had already decided that we wanted him, and the victory simply underlined what we believed was there,” Hushovd said.
“He has a big engine and obvious qualities against the clock, but we do not want to define him too narrowly. We believe he can become a strong and versatile rider, particularly in races where his power and time trial ability can make a difference.”
