UAE Team Emirates - XRG are eagerly anticipating Paris-Roubaix and with this, the team has presented a strong lineup with several days remaining to the event. Tadej Pogacar will be making his debut, and will be seeking to win the fourth monument to his palmarès, and he will have a very strong support crew backing him up.
Pogacar would've had literally the perfect spring thus far if he had won Milano-Sanremo, but the resillience of Mathieu van der Poel in Italy was enough to beat the World Champion. Otherwise, with victories at the UAE Tour, Strade Bianche and Tour of Flanders, Pogacar has proved his form more than enough. Last week in Oudenaarde he crossed the finish line for the second time by himself on the second attempt, dropping the likes of van der Poel, Mads Pedersen and Wout van Aert on the many climbs. Now however, he faces a very different challenge in the form of a race where there are no climbs.
Nevertheless, he will be a candidate for victory and perhaps the main contender alongside Mathieu van der Poel once again. The team comes in with several cards however, which may be used as in Flanders to control attacks, but it can also be used for attacks. Nils Politt and Florian Vermeersch have both finished second in the past on this race and will be very strong cards to play on such terrain.
Tim Wellens, Mikkel Bjerg and António Morgado are all riders who have also been preparing for the monuments and are expected to have a strong performance on the day, even in domestique roles; and the lineup is concluded with the surprising addition of Juan Sebastián Molano.
