Experienced German rider Jasha Sütterlin will join Team Jayco AlUla in 2025 with a new two-year contract, strengthening the Australian squad’s classics line-up as well as its sprint lead-out train.
The only professional victory of the 31-year-old Sütterlin's career is a stage triumph at the 2017 Vuelta a Madrid. Currently in his eleventh season among pros, Sütterlin is competing in his eleventh Grand Tour at the on-going Vuelta a Espana. Previously this year, the German completed the Giro d'Italia with 16th place in first of the two time trial being his best individual result.
"I’m honoured to be joining Australia’s only WorldTour team, challenging myself in this new experience and giving the best support possible and enjoying the spirit of the team," Sütterlin opens in
press communication.
Describing himself as a rider, he confirms that rather than chasing his own ambitions, he sees his value as a loyal teammate: "I see myself as a classic and TT rider and as a support rider for stage races and grand tours. I look forward to racing classics and a grand tour, but I really enjoy riding my bike, so every race is a new way to challenge myself."
"I am loyal to the role that the team decides to assign me; the moment I receive my role, it’s finished for me once the goal has been achieved. My personal ambition is to improve my skills, especially in time trials, to reach together with the team the goals set and some personal results."
