Norwegian press: Tobias Foss reportedly waiting for Evenepoel to join INEOS before deciding his future

According to the Norwegian newspaper Landevei, former world time trial champion Tobias Foss may not know where he will race in 2024 because of his successor in the rainbow, Remco Evenepoel.

Thus, the Nordic colleagues claim that the possibility of the Belgian eventually leaving Soudal Quick-Step for INEOS is the key reason why the Norwegian has not yet signed for any team for 2024: "Probably because of Remco Evenepoel's pending mega-transfer to INEOS Grenadiers."

Remco Evenepoel has hinted in an interview with Lanterne Rouge that he "probably will" stay with Quick Step because "a contract is a contract". In the interview, he talks about the signing of Mikel Landa and what he hopes will be more signings by the Belgian team. In other words, it seems that he is staying, but it is also true that he has not stated this with absolute certainty.

So, meanwhile, as we mentioned, Landevei's colleagues want to link the possible future of Foss to that of Evenepoel. According to them, the Norwegian would arrive at INEOS as a possible luxury domestique of Remco;

INEOS is letting riders go in recent days (Vlasov, Tao, Tulett, Martinez) and some analysts interpret that they are generating salary and market space in order to dare Evenepoel.

What is certain is that, as of today, this is nothing more than speculation. What we can say is that Remco Evenepoel, as long as no one goes and pays his clause (if it exists) will remain with Quick-Step. So, we'll see what happens with a Tobias Foss who hasn't had a great season at Jumbo and who looks like he's going to leave. We'll see if he goes to INEOS...
