Australian rider Nick Schultz found himself in a tough spot after learning about B&B Hotels-KTM’s collapse. He almost lost hope, but the Israel-Premier Tech team came to the rescue and offered him a spot at the last moment.
"I am really grateful to this team for offering me a contract so late in the year. I am very excited to join a great group of people where I will find familiar faces," said Schultz in a recent interview.
He further adds, "I hope to play an important role in helping the team wherever I can and also be ambitious in trying to get results to repay the confidence the team has shown me."
Kjell Carlstrom is delighted to welcome him. The director has seen Schultz's performance in the Tour de France and hopes that he will continue to do so. "We are very happy to have found a place for Nick Schultz in the team for the 2023 season. Like Stevie Williams, Nick came onto the market at the end of his contract, but he was a rider we were immediately interested in. Nick is a great climber and will provide key support to our general classification and Classics leaders, while pursuing his own ambitions. We look forward to seeing him in our jersey," concluded Carlstrom.
