New team aims to resurrect the dying British continental scene with a UCI promotion planned for 2028

The British continental scene used to be a lively eco-system with multiple projects and races taking place annually. However the political-economical situation caused it to collapse towards the end of previous decade.
And so, currently the British calendar consists of only one 1.2 event; the Rutland-Melton Classic, and the country's biggest UCI event at the moment; Lloyd's Tour of Britain (2.Pro).
Inevitably, this led to that not a single continental formation operates on the Isles under these conditions with INEOS Racing Academy the only UK-based continental outfit (however racing mainly on European mainland).
An ambition that keeps growing
Ride Revolution is a team based in Scotland which has been operating since 2023. Over the past four seasons, they have established themselves as a commendable force at the national circuit with a growing reputation internationally. The team's most outstanding results have been a 2nd place at Tour of Reservoir, stage win at Irish Rás Mumhan or top-10 overall at Polish 2.2 Tour Szlakiem Mazurskich Twierdz.

And the next step is at hand; to become a leading force at UK scene.
"From local races to the National Series, to our first UCI races and international races… Every season has taken us a little further. Now we are ready for a bigger step," the organization announces. "2027 will be a transitional year for us."
"We’re increasing our investment and rider support, expanding our international and UCI calendar, and building a more professional environment around our riders."
All that with a clear ambition of building a professional environment: "That means more racing, more opportunities, better equipment, stronger technical support and the right partners around the team."
Continental license in sight
For now, the focus will be mainly on UK's largest national-level events, as well as an increasingly international programme consisting of mainly .2 European races. However the ambitions go beyond that:
"But 2027 is not our final destination, because in 2028 we will be a UCI Continental Team," the team states enthusiastically. "Our goal is to build Ride Revolution towards a professional level and establish a genuine UK development pathway supported by the people, partners, equipment and infrastructure required to compete at that level."
The plan seems clear, yet the execution will still take multiple steps. We've seen several projects fail to deliver the wished result and that is why there has not been a truly British UCI continental outfit since Saint Piran and Trinity Racing's closure at the end of 2024.
"We are going to be honest it will require the right commercial and technical partners and it will require riders who are willing to commit to the journey. Over the coming days, we’ll be opening the doors to both."
