Throughout Itzulia Basque Country, there will likely be many riders forced to withdraw from the race, for various different reasons. We make a list of all riders who leave the race, as well as list out a few of the main crashes that take place during the race.

Stage 1

Nothing to note.

Stage 2

Ethan Hayter (Soudal - Quick-Step) went down in a crash early in the race. Within the final kilometres, Victor Campenaerts (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) and Alexander Hajek (Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe) were involved in a crash.

Stage 3

Caleb Ewan and Victor Campenaerts did not start the third stage, the latter due to the consequences of the crash on the previous days. Iuri Leitão, Victor Lafay and Julien Labrosse did not finish the stage.

Stage 4

Mathieu Burgaudeau, Anders Foldager and Robbe Dhont did not start the stage. There was not the same luck as the previous day on stage 4 however as two riders did abandon during the stage: Markel Beloki and Tyler Stites. INEOS' Victor Langellotti also fell during the day.

Stage 5

A further four riders departed the race on stage 5. Team Visma | Lease a Bike duo Axel Zingle and Ben Tulett, plus Team Jayco AlUla's Mauro Schmid and the INEOS Grenadiers Kim Heiduk.

Stage 6

The wet finale saw a few GC contenders take risks and that led to a few crashes, specially including Mattias Skjelmose and Guillaume Martin. However that was only a small detail on a day where a total of 40 riders abandoned. Five did not start the stage: Louis Barré, Alexander Kamp, Tom Paquot, Luca van Boven and Fabian Weiss. However the following did not finish the stage:

Igor Arrieta, Vegard Stake Laengen, Victor Langellotti, Salvatore Puccio, Otto Vergaerde, Bauke Mollema, Quinn Simmons, Robert Stannard, Finlay Pickering, Élie Gesbert, Thibault Guernalec, Martin Tjotta, Stefano Oldani, Pablo Castrillo, Gregor Mühlberger, Samuele Battistella, Alex Baudin, Hugh Carthy, Clément Davy, Jon Aberasturi, Mauri Vansevenant, Louis Vervaeke, Tobias Bayer, Davide de Pretto, Eddie Dunbar, Alana Hatherly, Jambaljamts Sainbayar, Lorenzo Rota, Sepp Kuss, Thomas Gloag, Fernando Barceló, Anton Kuzmin, Ide Schelling, Julian Alaphilippe and Luc Wirtgem.
