Jasper Philipsen was able to sprint to victory at the
Tour de France Prudential Singapore Criterium. Despite the relaxed nature of the race, it's a positive end to the season for the man who has more victories than anyone else this year.
"I still have good feelings. My last race, the Tour of Turkey, was only two weeks ago," a smiling Philipsen says in his post-race interview. "Of course, it's not an official race, but maybe we can say that it's is my 20th victory," he adds with a laugh.
"The course was very technical and it was very hot. My team did a big job to catch
Tadej Pogacar on the last lap," he recaps, having edged out both the Slovenian and
Mark Cavendish to take victory.
After the best year of his career to date, including winning the Green Jersey at the Tour de France, Philipsen realises it could be a challenge to replicate it in 2024. “It will be hard to do as well, but we will try. I am very motivated and we will try to do even better, even if it will not be easy."
