Maximiliano Richeze on his decision to postpone the retirement - " I got a call from an important team, so I'm going to race one more year"

Maximiliano Richeze planned his retirement this season, but the rider has decided to postpone his decision for one more year and ride for "an important team".

"After a good start to the season, UAE offered me the whole year, but we did not reach an agreement," said Richeze in an interview. He continues, "I was already thinking about retirement, but I got a call from an important team, so I'm going to race one more year," disclosed the South American rider. But he has not revealed the name of the team yet, "I can't say yet, they haven't made it public yet.”

He explains his decision, "I was in good shape, and that's why I accepted the offer. I put my conditions, and they accepted them, which led me to continue one more year and close my sporting career the way I want.” He concluded with, "It's good to decide yourself when to end your career and not someone else or a team.”

Rumours are that he may join B&B Hotels alongside Mark Cavendish to form a sprint duo, although this cannot be confirmed.
