In the fourth stage of the Tour of Switzerland, Mattias Skjelmose finished third over minute behind the winner Felix Gall. The Trek-Segafredo rider lost his leader's jersey to Austrian by just two seconds, which makes it a very good position into coming days.

The Trek-Segafredo leader loses his yellow jersey, but says he is not sad about it. "When Felix Gall got ahead of us, I was hoping to lose the leader's jersey by the smallest possible margin. And that's what happened, so it was a successful day."

Skjelmose has also not tried to bring the Austrian back. Fortunately for him, others were willing to do the dirty work. "I tried to calmly go into the chase. At that point we no longer had the team to control, but luckily other guys wanted to ride. So I was able to follow for the most part. Thus I wasted very little energy."

"It wasn't the plan at all costs to lose the yellow jersey today, but I wasn't going to ride myself completely to keep it either. Tomorrow is much more important and I can make a bigger difference than today. We wanted to lose the jersey to someone I could handle in the time trial. Felix Gall looks strong but I think I can beat him," Skjelmose concludes confidently.
