Mathieu van der Poel opts for white shorts at Milan-Sanremo

Mathieu van der Poel will attempt to win Milano-Sanremo again in what will be his first road race of the year. He has come up to the start line with an interesting equipment which may in the end be the winning one.
After winning 13 out of the 14 cyclocross races he raced during the winter, he took a well-deserved break before beginning his Classics campaign today with a race he won last year with a brutal attack up the Poggio that even Tadej Pogačar could not respond to.

There were doubts as to whether he would wear full white for his debut in the Alpecin-Deceuninck kit this season or if he would wear a blue bib shorts like his teammates. Finally we will see him in pure white to try to conquer another Monument and defend his title at La Classicissima.
