Bahrain - Victorious is one of the few teams that are coming in to the Tour des Flandres seemingly unaffected by the spree of illnesses that have been going through the peloton in the last few months, and will be within the main teams in the discussion for the race win as Matej Mohoric comes as a reliable leader.
”I feel good, I think I am in a good place, and my condition is catching up after the setbacks I had earlier in the season. I will do my best to fight for the win on Sunday. I believe I have an honest chance to have a go. It will be far from easy, but I am very much looking forward to a great race!" Mohoric said in the run-up to the second monument of the season. Off the back of a big win at Milano-Sanremo, the Slovenian isn't going into the race with pressure, however with a fourth and ninth place at the E3 Saxo Bank Classic and Gent-Wevelgem, he's showing the legs needed to grab another win.
Mohoric has shown the form, and he will be backed by a strong team behind him. Compatriot Jan Tratnik has just came off Top10 performances at Milano-Sanremo and Dwars door Vlaanderen and is a wildcard for the race, as are Dylan Teuns and Fred Wright who will be well suited for the explosive climbs the riders will face countless times.
"We do have a very strong team, and hopefully, we can have numbers up there in the final in the last 50 km and play our cards well," he concluded.
Bahrain - Victorious for Tour des Flandres: Matej Mohoric, Heinrich Haussler, Filip Maciejuk, Jasha Sütterlin, Dylan Teuns, Jan Tratnik and Fred Wright.
