Bahrain - Victorious'
Matej Mohoric already has one monument success on his palmares thanks to victory at Milano-Sanremo in 2022 and the Slovenian is keen to add another with a win at
Paris-Roubaix.
“I love Paris-Roubaix, that's why I'm here. I fell in the Tour of Flanders and still not fully recovered, but I still think I have a chance for a good result," says Mohoric pre-race. “Roubaix is the race where I have a realistic chance of winning, because I am not on the same level in Flanders as Pogacar, Van der Poel or even Van Aert. Here it is not always the legs that decide.”
Although he perhaps won't start the race as one of the favourites for overall victory, Mohoric does enter the Hell of the North with plenty of self-confidence, something that can be a dangerous weapon. “I was just behind Bini . I've lost a lot of skin, but I think I'm still in good shape," he says following his fall in Flanders.
"I just hope I don't fall again. I believe I can win, otherwise I wouldn't be here," Mohoric concludes confidently.
