Mark Cavendish wins British national championships after aggressive race

The British national championships had a surprising outcome, as the race was decided by the day's breakaway. It was a battle between Cavendish, Alex Richardson, Sam Watson and Ben Turner, but the Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team took the win.

The peloton saw attacks but couldn't come back to the front group, which saw several attacks fly off the front near the finale, most closed by Cavendish. With Turner dropped, the trio made it to the final kilometer isolated, where Cavendish easily took the win in the final sprint.
