Mads Pedersen wins the closing ITT stage of Étoile de Bessèges as Neilson Powless overturns Skjelmose to take GC win

Mads Pedersen managed to finish Étoile de Bessèges race on a winning note, taking Stage 5 the last stage, that was done in the Individual Time Trial discipline. in the General classification Neilson Powless managed to do better against the clock than Mattias Skjelmose and won the Overall classification of the race with 1 second of difference.

Étoile de Bessèges finished with an individual ITT that finished on a 2.6 km hill finish with a average percentage of 5.6% in Alés. Mads Pedersen of Trek-Segafredo did the best time for a long period managing to do better than specialists like the European ITT Champion Stefan Bissegger (EF Education-EasyPost) and the general classification riders.

Nobody could do a better time than Mads Pedersen and the Dane won the final stage of the 5 days race. He finished ahead of INEOS-Grenadiers duo Joshua Tarling and Ben Tulett.

Neilson Powless of EF Education-EasyPost won the overall classification as he took key seconds on Mattias Skjelmose in a surprising turn of events. The points jersey classification went for Arnaud de Lie (Lotto-Dstny), mountains jersey for Vito Braet (Team Flandres-Baloise), youth jersey for Mattias Skjelmose (Trek-Segafredo) and the team's classification for the French team Total Energies.
