Lotto Cycling Team and cyclocross outfit Deschacht–Hens–FSP have announced a new partnership, coming into effect immediately. The first tangible outcome of this collaboration is the integration of experienced cyclocross rider Toon Aerts into Lotto’s road setup.
Aerts, 31, will complete his upcoming road campaign in the colours of the Lotto team. While the agreement is currently verbal, formal discussions are set to take place next week with Lotto sports manager Kurt Van de Wouwer to finalise the details of his racing programme.
The Belgian rider from Malle brings a wealth of experience and pedigree to the partnership. Aerts was crowned European cyclocross champion in 2016, won the Belgian national title in 2019, and has twice claimed overall victory in the UCI Cyclocross World Cup.
