20-year-old Frenchman
Lenny Martinez was one of the stars of the first week of the
Vuelta a Espana, wearing the leaders jersey and staying near the top of the general classification. Now though, he may be dropping out of contention.
The
Groupama - FDJ leader has been battling to hang onto the Red Jersey group throughout the day but with over 50km still to go, it looks as if Martinez has finally cracked. There's no shame in the 20-year-old's performance, neither is he the only GC contender to drop away on stage 13. Both Joao Almeida and Remco Evenepoel have already been dropped and are multiple minutes behind the leaders.
