Julian Alaphilippe will lead France in Glasgow on hunt for his third rainbow jersey

The French selection for the 2023 World Cycling Championships in Glasgow has been announced. In the team for the road race on Sunday 6 August, the names of Julian Alaphilippe, Christophe Laporte and Benoit Cosnefroy are particularly striking.

Many scenarios are possible on the hilly course in Glasgow. France is spreading its chances between two-time world champion Alaphilippe or Benoît Cosnefroy as hill specialists, and power sprinters like Laporte and Coquard. They will be supported by Valentin Madouas, Olivier Le Gac, Florian Sénéchal and Rémi Cavagna.

Cavagna and Bruno Armiral are designated for the individual time trial. The chrono is scheduled for Friday, August 11.

French lineup for World Championships:
Julian Alaphilippe, Bruno Armirail (only ITT), Rémi Cavagna (also ITT), Bryan Coquard, Benoit Cosnefroy, Christophe Laporte, Olivier Le Gac, Valentin Madouas and Florian Sénéchal
