Julian Alaphilippe crossed the line ninth in
Milano-Sanremo. The Frenchman from
Soudal - Quick-Step said he could have finished even higher, because he had to deal with a flat tire in the final straight, limiting him for the sprint.
"I'm happy with the way I rode. I had a good feeling all day and I had an incredibly strong team by my side. They have constantly protected me and always positioned me well at the right times. I am disappointed myself because I got a flat tire in the final. Without that flat tire I certainly could have finished higher."
