UAE Team Emirates' Juan Sebastian Molano has taken the sprint victory on stage 2 of the 2024 Cro Race after a frantic and relentlessly high paced day in Croatia.
Given the infernal pace of the race, heading into the final 50km, the peloton had control at the front, and repeated attacks were being neutralised. Two riders did eventually get clear and form a break, but they were never given much leeway and as such, they didn't last all that long.
As such, a bunch sprint was, for the second day in a row, the way the day was to be decided. Given the relentless high pace over the course of the stage though, who still had fresh legs wasn't completely sure. In the end, despite a late attack from INEOS Grenadiers' Kim Heiduk, it was UAE Team Emirates' Juan Sebastian Molano that powered to victory ahead of Giovanni Lonardi.
