Juan Pedro López badly injured following training crash

The news have not been the best today for Trek - Segafredo as they reported one of their leaders, Juan Pedro López, to have suffered injuries following a training crash in a training camp in Spain.

López is currently with a big part of the team in a team training camp and during today's rider the Spaniard has hit the deck. As a result he has suffered a broken collarbone which will require surgery. It is unclear when he will start his season, but taking into consideration his main goals for the season will be at the Tour de France and Vuelta a Espana, it may not change his schedule heavily.

López came to the spotlight last year at the Giro d'Italia after an early breakaway saw him land on the pink jersey. He held on for the lead of the race for 10 days before surviving into a 10th place on the overall classification.
