Juan Ayuso did not have the best legs during the fourth stage of the Tour of Switzerland. The UAE Team Emirates rider, who had performed at a high level in the opening time trial and stage 3 (also in the mountains), fell out of the group of favorites and lost 1:51 to new leader Felix Gall and 49 seconds to Remco Evenepoel.
He now faces the queen stage of the Swiss race in sixth place overall, 1:18 behind Gall. Things have become complicated for him, although he hopes to be able to change his performance and keep fighting. At least that's what he said before setting off this morning:
"It's a very hard day, very long, so for sure we'll feel the fatigue, I hope I do better than yesterday and I can be with the best. It's very hard, yesterday I lost a lot of time, but today is a brutal day and then we have the time trial, so anything can happen."
